The representative pilot unions at Air France met with management on Monday to start negotiations on working conditions and pay, a few weeks after the validation in the company of a pay increase agreement for all categories of staff.

Jet Airways announces the launch of two new routes for the winter season and an increase in frequencies. The company will be the first Indian airline to operate direct flights between Mumbai and Manchester, the third largest city in the United Kingdom. It will also be the first to connect the Indian city of Pune directly to Singapore. In addition, the company will increase its frequencies from Delhi to Singapore and Dubai.

Coimbatore, one of the country’s fastest growing major emerging cities, is home to more than 25,000 small, medium and large companies, mainly in the engineering and textile sectors. The company’s new daily route will promote trade and increase commercial and economic activity in the region, while connecting the Tamil Nadu manufacturing centre to the Indian capital. In addition, this flight now connects popular destinations such as Ootacamund and Pollachi.

Singapore Airlines is launching next year on Seattle, now its 5th destination in the United States. The first flight is scheduled for September 3, 2019, with three flights per week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) and four flights per week from October (Sunday). Singapore Airlines will fly with the Airbus A350-900 on this new route and will offer its passengers 42 seats in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy and 187 in Economy.

easyJet published its traffic statistics for October 2018, revealing a 14.1% increase in passenger numbers compared to the previous 12 months. This strong growth is mainly due to the integration of operations from/to Berlin Tegel since September.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport and S7 Airlines have implemented SITA’s Scan&Fly technology, which offers passengers a faster and more efficient process for checking in their own luggage. The process takes less than a minute.
The technology was developed by SITA, a global player in IT and telecommunications solutions for air transport. The autonomous baggage check-in solution has been tested at S7 check-in counters since early September and more than 1,000 passengers who used the service have expressed positive feedback.
