Celebrity Cruises takes delivery of the beautiful Celebrity Edge

After more than 23 months of construction, and the mobilization of thousands of engineers, architects, designers, contractors, site employees, construction teams and Celebrity teams, Les Chantiers de l’Atlantique officially delivered the most anticipated ship of the year, the Celebrity Edge, to its owner, Celebrity Cruises.

The delivery ceremony was marked by a second highlight, the keel ceremony of the Celebrity Apex, the second Edge class ship, also built in Saint Nazaire.

As part of the event, Richard D. Fain, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, hosted a ceremony aboard the Celebrity Edge, docked at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint- Nazaire.

The team of Celebrity Cruises brand management was also present, as well as shipyard managers, including Managing Director Laurent Castaing, and 1,377 crew members representing 72 different nationalities.
