The longest flights in the world with Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines will re-launch the world’s longest commercial flights next October, with non-stop flights between Singapore and New York operated by the new Airbus A350-900ULR (ultra long-haul).

The first flight will depart Singapore on 11 October 2018 for Newark Liberty International Airport in New York. The service will initially be provided three times a week, from Singapore, on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Daily flights will commence on 18 October after an additional A350-900ULR enters service.

SIA is the launch company for the new A350-900ULR, with seven aircraft ordered from Airbus.

The aircraft will be configured in two classes, with 67 seats in Business class and 94 seats in Premium Economy class.

The flights will cover a distance of approximately 9,000 nautical miles (16,700 km) and the flight will last up to 18 hours 45 minutes.

Singapore Airlines operated the Singapore-Newark route non-stop from 2004 to 2013, when services were suspended following the return of the A340-500 aircraft to Airbus.
