Delta Air Lines has appointed Matt Long as General Manager for Europe and Africa as the airline continues to invest in the transatlantic market ahead of what will be its busiest summer schedule ever in the region. In this role, Matt will help ensure Delta continues to deliver the premium, reliable, and thoughtfully designed experience customers expect when crossing the Atlantic.
Europe and Africa remain strategically vital regions, generating a significant portion of Delta Air Lines’ long-haul demand and premium revenue.
Matt Long will lead the coordination of commercial, operational, and customer experience initiatives across 35 European and African markets, working closely with Delta’s regional teams and joint venture partners at Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic to support the airline’s long-term commercial ambitions.
He will also contribute to the development of major infrastructure and modernization projects at Delta’s key hubs in Amsterdam, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, and London Heathrow, while leading the transformation of the customer experience in Europe and Africa.
Delta Air Lines’ transatlantic network now boasts more than 100 daily peak-season flights across Europe and Africa, including new routes such as Seattle-Barcelona and Seattle-Rome, New York-JFK-Olbia, Malta and Porto, Atlanta-Marrakech, as well as increased service to Accra and Lagos.
In addition to expanding Delta’s presence in Europe and Africa amid continued growth in demand, Matt Long will ensure that Delta continues to deliver a consistent and premium experience for both leisure and business travelers, particularly those connecting with Delta and its joint venture partners.
