Explora Journeys launches its new ship and sets sail for Asia

Explora Journeys, the MSC Group’s exceptional travel brand, unveils its 2027-2028 Collection, a bold portfolio spanning five continents. This new season features a major milestone: the first ports of call in Asia, marking the opening of a new chapter of exploration for travelers seeking unique discoveries.

The season will also be marked by the arrival of Explora V, the fifth ship in the fleet, which will begin its journey through the Mediterranean landscapes before setting sail for the Red Sea and the Arabian Peninsula.

From September 2027 to May 2028, the Collection offers nearly 100 voyages across 59 countries and nearly 200 ports of call.

With in-depth immersion, rich cultural discoveries, and numerous overnight stays, this season reaffirms Explora Journeys’ vision: to transform exceptional sea travel into a meaningful and memorable experience.

A new chapter with debuts in Asia

Asia takes center stage with Explora III’s maiden voyage to the region.

During 28 immersive itineraries, the ship will explore 47 ports of call across Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore – each serving as an inaugural stop.

These voyages have been carefully designed to reveal the richness and diversity of Asia, from sparkling cities to spiritual centers and exceptional coastal sanctuaries.

With overnight stops in Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Naha (Japan), Ha Long (Vietnam), Ho Chi Minh City, and Bali, travelers will have the time and space to fully immerse themselves in local life.

From the autumnal blaze of maple and ginkgo trees in Kyoto to the delicate spring cherry blossoms in Shimizu and Nagoya, the itineraries reflect Asia’s most evocative seasons.

Explora V  arrives during the Mediterranean’s most serene period

The latest addition to the Explora Journeys fleet, Explora V, will launch in December 2027, inaugurating its unique approach to the Mediterranean.

Its inaugural collection of voyages, combined with a limited number of passengers, offers a more intimate encounter with local culture and history.

From the gilded streets of Valletta to the panoramas of Cagliari, Sicily, to the historic alleys of Istanbul, these itineraries invite visitors to a more peaceful Mediterranean, conducive to contemplation and a slow, restorative journey.
