Mandatory segregation in Canada until August 31

To prevent further outbreaks of the coronavirus, the 14-day isolation period is being extended until August 31 for anyone crossing the Canadian border.

All arriving travellers must comply with the quarantine order, regardless of whether or not they present symptoms by land, air or sea.

Those who defy the order face six months in jail or a fine of $750,000, which can be increased to $1 million if the wilful offending behaviour results in the death or contamination of others.

All travellers must wear a mask and while travelling to the place where they will be isolated.
Mandatory segregation does not apply to persons who regularly cross the border for the purpose of transporting goods or providing essential services.
