How Avis Budget Group and Ford connect in Europe

As part of its mission to reinvent leasing, Avis Budget Group, yesterday announced a partnership with Ford Commercial Solutions to connect more than 14,000 Ford Motor Company vehicles to the European fleet of Avis Budget Group.

These connected vehicles will facilitate vehicle recovery and Avis customers will be able to fully manage their rental experience via the App Notice: in particular, choose the type of vehicle they want, move up the range, extend the duration of their rental from their mobile phone. Even the return of the vehicle will be automated, customers will be able to drop off their vehicle with a simple click, via the App.

Connecting vehicles provides valuable telemetry data in real time: mileage updates, fuel level and vehicle condition.

This will allow customers to be served more efficiently: Avis Budget Group fleet managers will be able to process the necessary information more quickly.

In addition, Ford Commercial Solutions offers an integrated telematics solution that provides Avis Budget Group with a simple and reliable way to connect their vehicles, reducing the costs and complexity of implementing aftermarket solutions.

More than 4,000 vehicles in the Avis Budget Group fleet are expected to be connected by the end of 2019, and 10,000 by the end of 2020.
