Tenerife : The Eldorado of cycling tourists

With an average temperature of 22 degrees all year round, a vast network of well-preserved roads and incredible landscapes, Tenerife is the ideal destination for cyclists.

Whether you are a beginner or a professional, the island has a wide choice of routes, up to 2000 metres high, but also services that can be adapted to the needs of everyone.

At the foot of the Teide or by the sea, cycling through the area is a real sporting pleasure that is enjoyed by more and more enthusiasts every year.

Moreover, the greatest cycling professionals come to Tenerife as a prelude to their participation in major events, such as the Tour de France, the World Championships and even the Olympic Games, for a complete preparation.

The next edition of the Vuelta al Teide Cyclotourism will take place on March 30!

Since last year’s edition, this event has been recognised by the International Cycling Union (UCI) and is part of the International World Cycling Tours.

It is open to all cycling enthusiasts with a minimum of preparation to face the challenge of being able to do a Teide tour in a single stage. The circuit passes over emblematic areas of Tenerife, a breathtaking landscape… and yet it will take some! The main event is a 160-kilometre course along the roads most frequented by high-level professional cyclists. The total climb is close to 4,000 metres in altitude in the case of the full event. The average event, called Half Teide, covers 90 kilometres and reaches an altitude of 2,000 metres.
