Uber launches its Elite option

Uber has announced the launch of a new luxury transportation experience, provided by professional drivers with commercial licenses who drive luxury vehicles less than three years old.

Called Uber Elite, this product is designed for « executives, frequent travelers, and passengers looking for a more upscale experience, » according to the company.

The service offers a personalized airport meet and greet option: a driver welcomes the passenger at baggage claim and provides chargers, bottled water, mints, and disinfectant wipes.

Special requests can be made through the app, such as choosing sparkling water or champagne.

Phone support is available 24/7.

Uber Elite is currently available by invitation only in Los Angeles and San Francisco for regular Uber Black and Uber for Business customers.

The service will soon launch in New York, « and in other U.S. and international cities thereafter, » according to Uber.

Eventually, it will be available to all users.

Users can book through Uber Reserve, the Uber app, and the Uber for Business delegate booking feature.

Elite races can be booked at least one hour in advance and up to 90 days in advance, according to the company.
