Decision against Senegal: the manipulation exposed

The African football world is in turmoil following recent disciplinary decisions against the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), a case that many observers are now describing as a blatant « scheme » orchestrated in the upper echelons of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) under the direct influence of FIFA.

The sanctions imposed on the Lions of Teranga, following disputed match incidents, reveal, according to several internal sources, a double standard aimed at weakening one of the continent’s most influential nations on the political stage of football.

The involvement of Gianni Infantino, FIFA president, is being called into question: he is accused of using the CAF as a rubber stamp to consolidate his total control over African federations and favor specific interests at the expense of sporting fairness.

This strategy of « bringing into line » powerful nations like Senegal is taking place within a context of contested reforms, where arbitrary decisions often seem aligned with electoral agendas in Zurich rather than with the realities on the ground in Dakar or Yaoundé.

Anger is simmering among Senegalese fans and officials, who denounce a blatant lack of transparency in the CAF’s adjudicative procedures, which appear increasingly subservient to global directives.

As Senegal’s defense prepares to take the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), this scandal casts a lasting shadow over the credibility of football governance in Africa, raising questions about the confederation’s true independence in the face of an omnipresent FIFA president in 2026.
