In 2021, a new hotel in Warsaw, from the Barceló chain, will offer 150 rooms, a conference area and an Iberian-style rooftop bar in the heart of an emblematic former power station.
The facility will be built within Elektrownia Powisle, a former power plant that houses a collection of bars, restaurants, shops, office space and private residences, all within a 15-minute walk of downtown.
This 4-star hotel will offer direct access to Elektrownia Powisle’s retail, entertainment, bars and restaurants, which are a 2-minute walk from the nearest metro station.
The Barceló Hotel Group’s Business Development Director, Jaime Buxó, said: « We are delighted to open our first hotel in Poland as part of this historic development project, which will see the transformation of one of Warsaw’s most iconic buildings. »
« The hotel’s privileged location, in the city’s most dynamic cultural district, fits perfectly with Barceló Hotel Group’s objectives of opening new hotels in the most attractive destinations and is an important proof of our growth strategy as we expand worldwide. »
The Powisle district is home to the Copernicus Science Centre, the Warsaw University Library and the Warsaw Museum of Modern Art, attracting both residents and visitors.
The hotel will be built on a plot of land at the intersection of Zajecza and Wybrzeze Kosciuszkowskie streets.
On an area of 7,350 m², 150 rooms, a conference area and an Iberian-style rooftop bar with a magnificent view of the Vistula River will be available to guests.
