Summer festivals are full in New York


This summer, the famous New York festivals will be back, as well as must-see exhibitions featuring huge artists such as Picasso and Basquiat.

Shakespeare in the Park – until September 8 : since 1962, the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park has presented 2 Shakespearean plays every summer. Free tickets are distributed in Central Park and the rest of the city.

SummerStage – until September 16 : on the program, about 100 free events including concerts, readings, children’s shows, theatre and dance productions.

SummerStage is held in Central Park and in various neighbourhoods and boroughs throughout the city.

Lincoln Center Out of Doors – July 25 to August 11 : NYC’s famous performing arts centre offers concerts, dance, shows for the whole family… for free.

« Rembrandt to Picasso » at the Brooklyn Museum – June 21 to October 13 : This exhibition presents for the first time intimate portraits and living landscapes.

Among the artists in the spotlight: Blake, Cézanne, Gauguin, Goya, Van Gogh, Manet and Toulouse-Lautrec.

Jean-Michel Basquiat at the Guggenheim Museum – June 21 to November 6 : This exhibition dedicated to the New York artist highlights cultural activism, black identity and empowerment.
