Tourism in Seattle: The Museum of Flight celebrates 50 years of the Apollo 11 mission

From April 13 to September 2, 2019, the Museum of Flight in Seattle will host the exhibition Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission, featuring objects used on this legendary space expedition. Set up in partnership with the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C., the exhibition traces the history of the Apollo 11 mission that saw the first man walk on the moon 50 years ago.

Among the exhibition’s must-have items: NASA’s Columbia command module used for the Apollo 11 mission, a Soviet Sputnik satellite, an astronaut’s outfit from the time and the only remains of the propellant that sent the Apollo rocket to the Moon. Visitors can also explore the interior of the shuttle used for the expedition using high-resolution 3-D screens provided by the Smithsonian Institute.

Ticket for the museum and exhibition: 35$ (approx. 30€) for adults, 26$ (approx. 23€) for 5-17 year olds, free for children under 5 years old.
