The Bicentenary of the birth of Queen Victoria good for UK Tourism


In 2019, Great Britain will celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Queen Victoria, a year that will be celebrated in the United Kingdom. marked by many festivities.

Born on May 24, 1819 in Kensington Palace, Victoria acceded to the throne in 1837 at the age of 18. On his death, on the 22nd January 1901 on the Isle of Wight, she led the longest reign of the British monarchy (but since then she has was overtaken by Queen Elizabeth II).

His reign is marked by a series of firsts and events significant. In 1842, she was the first monarch to travel by train. She runs the largest empire in history. and took the title of Empress of India in 1887. Between 1840 and 1882, she survived seven attempted murders.

She now rests in Windsor in the Royal Mausoleum of Frogmore with her husband, Prince Albert, who died in 1861 at the age of 42.

Queen Victoria was born in Kensington Palace on May 24, 1819. It is also where she spent her childhood.

On this occasion, the rooms and salons in which she lived will be permanently open to the public which will allow you to discover some fascinating aspects of his life at the palace.
