Singapore, home of the biggest media circus of the year

Senior officials rushed to save the historic meeting between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un yesterday June 12 in the state city. This day in any extraordinary point, saw the president of the first world power display a form of complicity with the heir of the Kim dynasty, which reigns of an iron hand on North Korea for more than 60 years.  

Hotel rooms are tearing each other away

During the period in question, the Singaporean authorities had asked the major hotels to keep rooms for the meeting. There was a waltz of hesitation after the American president left a doubt about his coming. Meanwhile, the rooms in Singapore are tearing each other apart because thousands of journalists want to be there. Some 3,000 people applied for media accreditation.

Official delegations are on site

Delegations of US and North Korean officials are currently on the ground. You can imagine the security instructions demanded by the two political figures. A senior North Korean official was seen for a meeting with American officials.

Singapour does not live serenely

As world leaders hold their breath. Most hope that a summit could lead Pyongyang to permanently abandon its nuclear weapons programme.

However, many Singaporeans are much more concerned about the disruption of their peaceful lives. Security will certainly be expensive, with a large number of police ready to deploy and many road closures expected around the summit site.
