Persian Gulf : The Emirates aim to restore their tourism to pre-crisis levels

One year after the closure of its base in the United Arab Emirates, the low-cost airline Wizz Air is preparing its big return to Dubai and Abu Dhabi within a redeployed network also including Jeddah and Amman, with a global program of 12 routes and 49 weekly frequencies.

This gradual recovery comes as the Dubai tourism sector tries to overcome a difficult patch, suffering the security and logistical repercussions of the military escalation that opposed Iran, Israel and the United States last February.

The conflict has heavily disrupted the skies of the Middle East, causing route diversions and increased distrust among international travelers, leading to a sharp drop in ridership in the region’s major hubs.

By reinjecting low-cost capacity to Dubai and neighboring monarchies, the Hungarian carrier provides a welcome boost to support the resumption of visitor flows and restore connectivity to the Emirati commercial archipelago.
