New York City ready for the next FIFA World Cup

New York City Tourism + Conventions, the official tourism promotion agency for the five boroughs of New York City, is launching an ambitious international campaign, « Where the World Comes to Play. » Objective: To capture the attention of international travelers in the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup™, whose final will be held in New York/New Jersey.

Rolling across 20 countries until June 2026, the « Where the World Comes to Play » campaign invites curious travelers, sports fans, and partygoers to (re)discover New York City—one of the world’s most welcoming, diverse, and vibrant destinations.

A powerful visual for an iconic destination

Conceived in-house by NYC Tourism + Conventions’ award-winning Creative & Content team, the “Where the World Comes to Play” campaign capitalizes on iconic visuals—the Statue of Liberty surrounded by festive symbols like a soccer ball, a disco ball, sunglasses, and a shopping bag—to appeal to both visitors attending the World Cup and summer vacationers drawn to the cultural and festive offerings of the Paris region.

As the country’s primary gateway for international travel and host city of the FIFA World Cup Final, New York is the must-visit destination this summer,” says Julie Coker, President and CEO of New York City Tourism + Conventions.

Whether you’re a passionate soccer fan or simply looking for all the experiences and entertainment that the five boroughs have to offer, our city welcomes you with open arms. Come experience New York, where the world comes to play. Don’t miss it!
