Marriott International has officially opened the Four Points by Sheraton São Vicente Resort, marking the group’s highly anticipated entry into Cape Verde. Located above Laginha Beach, in the heart of São Vicente’s cultural hub, the hotel combines the relaxation of a resort with services tailored to business travelers on the island.
Representing Marriott’s 500th hotel in the « select service » segment in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, this landmark opening also marks the very first Four Points by Sheraton resort offering in the region.
“Cape Verde is renowned for its vibrant spirit, natural beauty, and growing global appeal, making it an exciting addition to our network of international destinations,” says Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President, Premium, Select & Midscale Brand Management, EMEA, Marriott International.
Nestled in a crescent-shaped bay in Mindelo, a port city in the north of São Vicente Island known for its colorful and lively carnival, the Four Points by Sheraton São Vicente Resort features a modern design that evokes a relaxed, summery atmosphere.
The public spaces and the 127 spacious guest rooms and suites are decorated with wooden furniture, handcrafted light fixtures, decorative wall panels, and patterned cement tile floors.
The clean, functional aesthetic of Four Points by Sheraton harmonizes with the destination’s bold colors, textures, and natural elements.
An Artist’s Haven
The art collection features a carefully curated selection of paintings by artist Raya Salman, as well as photographic works by photographer Joe Wuerfel, whose lens has been capturing the essence of Cape Verde for over 25 years.
The hotel will also exhibit works by two Cape Verdean artists, further strengthening the space’s local roots.
The Four Points by Sheraton São Vicente Resort offers direct access to the crystal-clear waters of Laginha Beach via a walkway on the first floor, which also houses an infinity pool and a bar.
Dining options include Bayview, serving international flavors from sunrise to sunset; Ocean Lounge, a lively poolside social space; and the soon-to-open Skybar, offering a rooftop experience with panoramic views.
