In which country do we work the most?

This is the question that everyone asks themselves whether we are in Tokyo, Bangkok or Paris. Statistics differ among agencies. But if we look closely, we arrive at a fairly close result.

In Paris, we would work little (but better of course !!!).

According to the survey conducted by the Swiss bank UBS, of the 71 cities analysed, Paris would benefit from the shortest working week (30.84 hours).

Lyon follows Paris with an average working week of 31.36 hours. The OECD, for its part, does not place France as the country that favours employees the most (on average).

The country that would work the least would be Germany (you should check https://data.oecd.org/emp/hours-worked.htm [1])

Asians have the longest weeks

Hong Kong, for example, has the longest working week in the world with an average of over 50 hours, according to the UBS survey. Taipei (Taiwan) would have an average of 41 hours, Tokyo 39.5 hours and Beijing 37.42 hours. You will have below a part of the classification.

France is well placed for paid holidays

If the French are rather spoiled in paid holidays (on average 38 days), it is not the most generous country. Lithuania would have 39 days, Finland 40 days, Sweden and Brazil 41 days!
Asians are less fortunate like Hong Kong with 17.2 days per year, less than the world average of 23 days.
