Due to the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East and its impact on aviation fuel prices, Transavia France is adjusting its flight schedule and is forced to cancel several flights planned for May and June 2026, the airline announced. Transavia specifies that « customers affected by a cancellation are being notified individually by SMS and email. »

The Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) PreCheck contactless biometric security option is available at all major American Airlines airports for the airline’s passengers, American Airlines announced. These airports include Charlotte, Chicago O’Hare, Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, New York LaGuardia, New York JFK, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Washington Reagan. The TSA PreCheck contactless identification system is also available at 60 other U.S. airports served by the airline, according to American Airlines.

The TSA PreCheck contactless identification system uses advanced technology to compare a customer’s live image to photos previously submitted to the U.S. government through passports, Global Entry memberships, or visas.

Hawaiian Airlines officially joined the Oneworld airline alliance, its parent company, Alaska Air Group, announced Thursday. This marks Hawaiian Airlines’ first time as a member of an airline alliance. Alaska Air Group, also the parent company of Alaska Airlines, acquired Hawaiian Airlines in 2024. Alaska Airlines joined Oneworld in 2021 after partnering with American Airlines in 2020 as part of its « West Coast International Alliance. »
The Hawaiian Airlines membership connects Hawaii to nearly 1,000 destinations in more than 170 countries.

Southwest Airlines‘ managed corporate revenue rose 16% in the first quarter and 25% in March compared to the previous year, the airline’s strongest increases ever, said Andrew Watterson, Chief Operating Officer, on the earnings call released Thursday morning. « We are seeing a clear surge in demand from business travelers, » he said. Since the launch of seat allocation and a new boarding procedure on January 27, the airline has seen “a significant increase in the number of new unique customers through our business channels, demonstrating a real enthusiasm for Southwest Airlines,” added Mr. Watterson. “Furthermore, within our existing customer network, we have seen an increase in bookings for higher fares, in line with company policy.”

From Bordeaux, easyJet is expanding its network with three new direct routes for the 2026 winter season, starting October 25: Agadir, Malaga, and Gran Canaria. From Nantes, easyJet will offer exclusive service to Essaouira and Brussels-Zaventem. A new route will also connect Lyon to Nice, strengthening domestic service. Starting this winter, easyJet will launch a brand-new route between Nice and Cairo, a first from France, as well as service to Lyon. Two new routes from Paris-CDG to Cairo and Southampton complete the winter schedule.

Ethiopian Airlines has confirmed a firm order for six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. Already the leading African operator of the 787, Ethiopian flies these aircraft to Europe, Asia, North America, and Africa.
