These little signs that warn of the onset of depression
Those who do not travel during their holidays suffer from deficit holiday disorder and are at risk of developing depression.
Since 2010, the annual Vacation Confidence Index research has been conducted in the United States at the request of Allianz Global Assistance USA.
Deficit Holiday Disorder is defined as the state in which leave is important for a person who is not sure he or she can travel. Travel means travel at least 160 kilometres from home and for a minimum of one week.
30.4% of respondents with this problem suffer from mild to moderate depression, while 12% experience severe depression.
A large proportion of Americans suffering from severe depression have not travelled for two years. In addition, they do not plan to do so in 2018. 62% of people suffering from this disease did not travel in 2017 and 56% went on holiday for the last time more than two years ago.
